After 13 weeks of performances and eliminations on The Voice season 5, the NBC competition show crowned a winner in its Dec. 17 finale episode.
As the three finalists — Tessanne Chin, Jacquie Lee, and Will Champlin – prepared for the results, they had to sit through two hours of group and guest performances including songs from Paramore, Celine Dion, One Republic, Lady Gaga, and Ne-Yo.
Finally it was time for the contestants to take to the stage to announce the winner. Team Adam Levine‘s Will Champlin took home the third place title as his wife and daughter looked on smiling, and then it was down to Levine’s Jamaican artist Tessanne Chin and Christina Aguilera‘s powerhouse vocalist Jacquie Lee.
Ultimately Tessanne Chin took home the title after landing the no. 1 and 2 spot on iTunes for her Monday night performances.
Levine also took home his second title after winning season 1 with contestant Javier Colon. Aguilera and coach Cee Lo Green will be taking the spring season off as Shakira and Usher once again step in to their roles as coaches.
