Artists who chose to cover an established and legendary group should really consider if their remade rendition is going to do right by the original recording.
Taylor Swift unfortunately is learning a valuable lesson with her “Pat Boonesque” display in her recording of the legendary classic track “September” previously recorded by Earth, Wind & Fire. If Maurice White were still alive, this remake would’ve surely put in in his grave from sheer disgust. Clearly the version is gaining steam in the country music community. She’s reportedly got a nod of approval from the group.
September is one of those classic songs that needs absolutely no help to be a great song. it’s played at nearly every backyard party, wedding and picnic event and the song send the place up with laughter and love. We don’t think Taylor Swift will live this one down.
Take a listen and share your thoughts about it:
The next time you throw a shindig and you want the party to be memorable, play both versions of September and let us know which version of September gave your guests joy.
