PLEASANT PRAIRIE — The Jelly Belly Candy Co. is trying to sell its Pleasant Prairie warehouse, with plans to move its distribution operations to Tennessee.
Tours will continue as usual there, with a full schedule of events this summer, said spokeswoman Jana Sanders Perry in an email.
There’s no timeline for when the warehouse will close, she said.
About 25 full-time employees, as well as some part-timers, work at the Pleasant Prairie facility, according to media reports.
The Chicago Tribune reported last year that Jelly Belly planned to move production from North Chicago to its headquarters in Fairfield, Calif.
Jelly Belly Visitor Center at the Pleasant Prairie warehouse offers a free Jelly Belly Express Train Tour and a chance to “taste the magic of the original gourmet Jelly Belly jelly bean,” according to the company’s website. Large-screen video monitors show how the company makes candy corn, jelly beans, gummies and more.
The Jelly Belly Visitor Center is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Warehouse tours operate daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
