On Friday, Ciara announced that her upcoming 20-date North American Jackie tour has been canceled. The singer posted the news on Facebook, saying that the cancellation was necessary so that should finish up her new studio album.
“I’m currently in the process of making the best album of my career!” Ciara wrote. “I want to give all of you an incredible show… A show that you deserve! Therefore, I gotta stay focused in the studio and commit myself to this new music.”
BET.com notes that this is the second time the singer has postponed her tour. After completing the first leg of Jackie last summer, she announced that the second leg would launch in November. Those dates were then postponed until March, but dates have been added.
The upcoming album, which Ciara has described as the “best album of her career,” will be the follow-up to 2015’s “Jackie,” which boasts the tracks “Dance Like We’re Making Love” and “I Bet.”
Since then, she has dropped two new songs: “Special Edition,” and the Dr. Luke-produced track “Oh Baby.” And you already know Ciara has allegedly filed a $15 million defamation lawsuit against her ex-lover/baby daddy, Future.
