31-Year Old West Allis, Wisconsin Man Dead In Apartment Building

A FOX6 News crew was on scene on Wednesday evening, August 13th as there was a heavy police presence near 102nd and Lincoln in West Allis.

West Allis police say around 6:30 p.m., they received a report of a man firing shots in the 10400 block of W. Lincoln Avenue.

Upon their arrival at the scene, West Allis police officers were informed an armed man was inside an apartment building.

Officers secured the area and other residents of the building.

Officers ordered the  man out of the apartment building, but the man refused to comply with officers’ requests to exit the apartment building.

Police entered the apartment and located the 31-year-old West Allis man dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Officers did not use force during this incident.

The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office was called out to the scene.

Police say they continue to investigate.
