: We’ve all heard the old cliché “an eye for an eye.” Well, one judge believed this was appropriate punishment for a pepper spray attacker and he ordered her victim to give her a dose of her own medicine. Not only was her victim ordered to spray her back, the punishment was all caught on video for us to see.
Last week, it was time for Diamond Gaston to face the music after she pepper sprayed a man in the face at a Burger King in Ohio. Franz Rolles was working at the Burger King when Gaston attacked Rolles, spraying him in the face with the pepper spray.
Judge Michael Cicconetti gave Gaston a choice: either 30 days in jail or be pepper sprayed in the face by her victim. Initially, she chose the first, but the mother of two eventually decided on the latter. Since Gaston’s attack had been caught on camera, it only seemed fitting that her punishment was recorded as well.
Lucky for Gaston, discharging pepper spray into a court room isn’t a good idea, and the judge had already thought that through. The pepper spray was replaced with harmless saline, knowing that the punishment would still sting emotionally even if it didn’t sting physically.
