FINALLY!! The snow had made its way to the Illinois cities with a nice downfall covering Chicago and surrounding suburbs. News reports states the majority of the snowfall is expected to fall in the west and northwest suburban Aurora. Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) released a travel warning to be careful driving on the roads due to the weather conditions citing ice laced patched areas on a few of the expressways.
Chicago’s 32 degree weather made the snowfall present itself just right as the fluffy stuff began to fall around 9am and as the day progressed visibility diminished to about half of a mile possibly less than that. O’Hare International Airport reported a snowfall of approximately 2 inches about an hour or so after the snow began to fall, there were no reports of cancelled or delayed flights at the time of the reporting.
This winter season is sure to be a very white one as we move forward through the remaining months of the season but at least we are going to have a “White Christmas”.
