A racist Virginia man named Brian Eybers was arrested after a conflicting encounter in Charleston in which racial slurs were directed at Steve Crump, a veteran WBTV (Channel 3) News reporter and creator of award-winning civil rights documentaries.
The young white man told Steve that he has the rights based on the constitution to call him a Ni##er because he is caucasian and he has the right to harass him as he is superior. He then calls the reporter a former slave.
Steve called the cops and the white guy was arrested, but while he was being arrested he continued to mock the reporter. The cops handled the white guy very delicately even though he was pretending to be in pain.
The young man is currently in the Charleston County Detention Center with a Friday court date on charges of disorderly conduct and possession of drug paraphernalia, a glass pipe that is used to smoke crack, police said.
According to MSN, Crump said, “Throughout his career, he has covered the Ku Klux Klan and interviewed many of its leaders, both wearing hoods and without.”
“None of them have ever called me the n-word,” he said.
“We may not see eye-to-eye on racial issues, but not a single Klansman I’ve interviewed in 35 years of doing this stuff has stooped to this level of vulgarity.”
