A nurse who was violently arrested at her place of employment in front of patients and staff has accepted a $500,000 settlement when she followed Hipaa privacy rule and refused to draw an unconcious patient’s blood.
The officer kept insisting that the nurse draw blood from the patient and when she explained that it violates the law, the cop got irate and illegally arrested her.
According to the Salt Lake Tribune, Alex Wubbels reached the agreement with Salt Lake City and the University of Utah. The settlement takes any potential or future lawsuit against the city or the university off the table.
