Ear Hustle 411 came across this story about a young man named Trevor MacDonald who strongly believes he was born in the wrong body and has the right as a transgender to chestfeed his children as any mother would do for their child.
According to The New York Post, Trevor MacDonald is a 31-year-old transgender man, married to a gay man, raising a 5-year-old boy and 20-month-old girl.
Trevor transitioned in his early 20s by taking testosterone and having male chest contouring surgery. He stopped taking testosterone after several years, however, in order to start a family with his husband.
Assuming the maternal role in his relationship, Trevor got pregnant and decided to nurse his children, whom he has been chestfeeding for five years, using a supplemental feeding tube.
Trevor is a writer and his goal is to educate people about the nuances of transgender families by sharing his personal story, which he hopes will bring attention to broader LGBTQ community and family issues.
