Tamar Braxton has taken her final dance on “Dancing with the Stars”. The singer has bowed out of the competition due to “serious” health issues.
The 38-year-old was rushed to the hospital during dress rehearsal for Monday’s episode, missing most of the show. But she miraculously returned later in the live broadcast and participated in a group performance with Nick Carter, preventing her from elimination.
However, Braxton will no longer be able to continue her journey on “DWTS.” While she originally thought she had pneumonia, doctors found blood clots in her lungs and diagnosed her with pulmonary embolism.
On Wednesday morning, she posted a photo of herself in the hospital bed alongside partner Val Chmerkovskiy. In an open letter to her fans on Instagram, she explained her heartbreaking decision to leave the show and cancel her tour dates with KEM.
“The Real” host will take time to focus on her health. “As you all know I will be the first to always encourage anyone to push through any obstacle that comes along one’s way. But in this case, my health is my current obstacle. .. And in TRUE #tamartian form I must go about this the exact same way as I would anything else. I woke up to a mirror and saw myself this morning and that makes me the winner because that almost wasn’t the case. 🏆Take care of yourselves… I love you and thank you ALL for your support.”
She also thanked Chmerkovskiy for his support. “p.s. Big hugs and kisses to my boo @iamvalc for being beyond a friend, brother and the BEST partner EVER.”
