This year’s Miss USA 2016 pageant had many on the edge of their seats. All of the ladies were beautiful, poised and well spoken, but there can only be one winner. The top 3 beauties were 22-year old Miss Georgia, Emanii Davis who came in as the second runner-up, 24-year old Miss Hawaii, Chelsea Hardin and 26-year old, Miss District of Columbia’s Deshauna Barber was crowned Miss USA 2016. Barber who looked stunning in her gold gown was crowned by 2015 Miss USA winner Miss Oklahoma’s Olivia Jordan was moved to tears as it has been a long road she traveled to get to this point of the competition.
Deshauna Barber the newly crowned Miss USA 2016, is a Logistics Commander in the United Stated Army as well as an IT Analyst for the Department of Commerce. She is also an esteemed and beloved member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. Barber who is well aware of the sacrifice and commitment it takes to serve the community and with her experience as a military professional will use that as her platform in her role as Miss USA. She will focus on treatment of PSTD for soldiers returning home from deployments and with her passion for helping people, we know she will maximize her new role and the journey will definitely be exciting.
