Catholic School In Michigan Under Fire For Allowing Muslim Students To Have A Private Prayer Room

“We don’t discriminate based on race, creed, color,” school president John Birney told WXYZ. Parents expressed concern students had an area for private prayer at Brother Rice.

Parents in Michigan have been sending their children to a Catholic school in Bloomfield Hills for years, assuming that their child was learning in a good Catholic environment….now they have learned, their assumptions were wrong…HORRIBLY wrong.

Now, we know what some Muslim students were doing there behind closed doors of one “special” room, which administrators knew about and allowed to happen.

Muslims being allowed to attend a Catholic school, was the first mistake administrators made. Once they opened the doors to Islam, they ushered in issues that conflicted with the faith that Brother Rice High School was built on to begin with. Like Minnesota, Michigan is turning into a Muslim state and what happened at this High School is proof of that.

Some parents recently learned about something going on for years in a sacred room inside the school, that they took immediate issue with, and for good reason. Special accommodations had to made for Muslim student’s prayer rituals and school officials told Catholic students to step aside, turning what once was a sacred place for them to pray into a designated Islamic prayer space.

“When the question was [from Muslim students], ‘Is there a place that I can pray?’ The answer that evolved was, ‘Yes, we’ve got this sacred space available for you if you want it,’” John Birney, the school’s principal, proudly told WXYZ, as if to boast how students on his campus coexist.

It’s a contradiction of religions and an abomination made to look like acceptance. It’s not a coincidence that Muslims allowed their children to attend a Catholic school when it would go against their beliefs, it’s an intentional takeover. The fact that only some parents complained and not all, is part of the problem. When Christians try to pray, bring a Bible, or do any other small act as part of their faith, it’s a national outrage that often ends in lawsuits and policy change.

If Catholics or Christians went to a predominately Muslim school, they wouldn’t be given a special room to pray if they asked for one. But everyone else is a bigot for denying any accommodation for followers of Islam.

I don’t see anything wrong with this. When I was growing up children of other fait were not forced to say prayer with us. I attended both an Anglican and a Catholic school. The more we shun people the more they will put up opposition and fight for their rights.

“When Christians try to pray, bring a Bible, or do any other small act as part of their faith, it’s a national outrage that often ends in lawsuits and policy change.” No it does not end that way, or not in a private school, which this is.

If they want to have Catholic prayers and rites at this school, they are entitled to. If they also want to accommodate students of other religions, they are entitled to do that. The claims of the 70% Christian majority that it’s being persecuted just get sillier and sillier. The only one telling the Brothers how to run their school appears to be you.

Here’s my question to those that think there is no problem with this . Show me one Muslim school that let’s Catholics or Christians attend and two one that gives them a place to pray ? Your not even allowed to bring a bible to any public school let alone pray in them other than Catholic schools ! This is just tossing another log on the fire of destroying Christianity in this country something this President has been on a fast track towards doing and some will say where has he done this , for one our military . Our military can’t pray or carry bibles , bootcamp can no longer give bibles to the recruits !

I quite agree with you. No other religion allows us to do that. But Jesus said to show love to our enemies. When I was growing up many Muslims and Hindus and even people from other denominations came to accept Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. If we give hate for hate , we are not taking Salvation to these people who obviously need it.

It’s not about “would they do the same” it’s about turning the other cheek. Jesus forgave the people that crucified him. He had compassion for all people. This school is doing one small gesture to live like the institution it is named.

You are so right. These people need Salvation like any other sinner. We as Christians have become so caught up in political turmoil that we have forgotten the command to go and preach the Gospel to every nation.

Anyone who has been listening to the Vatican statements, “The Muslims believe in the one true god,” and Pope Francis prayers at Mosque, “There is no god, but Allah..” This comes as absolutely no surprise. But to those Catholics that are unaware of the Catholic Religion’s creation of Islam, I say, “My people were destroyed for their lack of knowledge.” – Guess which people?
