Ronda Rousey conducted her first interview since her shocking knockout loss to Holly Holm last month. The story will be published in ESPN The Magazine, where she will grace the cover of the Dec. 8 issue.
“It might be three to six months before I can eat an apple, let alone take an impact,” Rousey told the magazine.
Although there were reports after the fight that Holm’s kick to Rousey’s face had broken her jaw, Rousey says it just loosened some teeth in the back of her mouth.
Rousey has suffered some backlash since her defeat with Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber and Donald Trump taking shots at her for not being humble.
Rousey said all those comments will only fuel her in the future.
“Most people get scared away from having an opinion,” Rousey said. “It’s not so much my opinions everybody relates to, it’s that I don’t care about being punished for it.”
UFC President Dana White said a Holm-Rousey rematch is his top priority. That likely will be Rousey’s next fight and many had hoped it could take place at UFC 200 on July 16. However, there’s some question as to whether Rousey will be ready that quickly.
