Joseph Graves, 19-years old found dead from a gunshot to the head while sitting in his SUV in Chicago’s Washington Heights neighborhood.  According to WGN News reports the young man was found on the passenger side of the vehicle. Graves was home from Northern Illinois University for the holidays and it seems he was out with some “friends” prior to his untimely death. Graves was pronounced dead at the scene with no leads on Graves’ killer. This cold-blooded and callous murder only adds more fuel to blazing fire about the violence on the streets of Chicago.

Where’s the outrage for this young man’s life? Each time a black person loses their life to gun violence regardless of who pulls the trigger, there should be an outcry so loud that nothing could keep it from being heard. Are the citizens becoming numb to the violence and are just going about their business? The death of a promising life is definitely not business as usual, it’s a shame, the future doctors, lawyers, entrepreneurs of tomorrow are being “snuffed out” TODAY. Now if this was another case of law enforcement taking the life of a young black man, the streets would be flooded with protests, where is that same action for this latest addition to the piles of murdered youth on the streets? No one is going to be satisfied until the black youth are completely wiped out!!
