A video captured by a witness in the area shows a brawl that occurred over the weekend in Southern California at a Klan rally. The confrontation turned out to be more that just a confrontation.

Five Klan members were arrested after stabbing three people out in Anaheim. The Anaheim police reported to have released the culprits late Sunday after the members claimed they were acting in self-defense.

The brawl between the Klan and the counterprotesters resulted in the arrest of 12 people.

Six Klan members had planned on arriving to the rally, which in turn a group of about 30 counterprotesters had already arrived at the scene at the rally.

The counterprotesters begun attacking and assaulting the rally members with two of the members being stomped on the ground which is when the Klan members stabbed three counterprotesters.

The counterprotesters wasted no time in showing how infuriating and angry they were in response to the rally. A source from the Center for the Study of Hate & Extremism at California State University said in regards to the protest, “I was afraid for their lives”, describing how terrorizing the response was.

Anaheim police Chief Raul Quezada said in response to the protest, “Even if the vast majority of our community disagrees with a particular group who visits our city we cannot stop them from lawfully gathering to express their opinions. Violence is not acceptable, and we will arrest anybody who assaults another person or commits any other crime in our city.”

The case will now go to the Orange Country District Attorney’s office for review in which judges will decide whether to pursue for filing of criminal charges.
