A New Jersey man has been cleared of all charges and avoided a 5-year prison sentence after dashboard video from a police cruiser revealed that cops falsified evidence against him. indicts
Prosecutors dropped the charges against 30 year-old Marcus Jeter of Bloomfield New Jersey, and in turn indicted two Bloomfield police officers for falsifying reports – and one of them for assault – after a recording of the arrest surfaced.
The video show officers beating Jeter, including one punching him in the head repeatedly, even though he was clearly complying with their orders.
Before the tape was discovered, prosecutors were pushing for a 5-year prison sentence.
