Emmett Till was a 14-year-old boy who was murdered and mutilated in 1955 in Mississippi for speaking to a caucasian girl. His murder was acquitted despite the fact that the murder was later admitted. This unfortunate event is buried in America’s racist history, but Will Smith and Jay-Z are going to make sure that you know this story.
The duo is behind a forthcoming, untitled miniseries about Till’s tragic fate that will be on HBO. There are no writers or actors attached to the film yet, so it’s merely an idea. This will not be Jay-Z’s and Will Smith’s first time pairing together. They both helped co-producer the Annie remake last Christmas, and they have an EDM comedy in the works with Calvin Harris.
Stay tuned for any updates on this upcoming project by two legends.
