Michigan woman Leiha Ann-Sue Artman will be spending one year in jail after falsely accusing four black men of kidnapping and raping her.
The 25-year-old sent her boyfriend anxious text messages in March describing her two days of continuous torture from these men, begging her boyfriend to pay a ransom. The conversation between the couple even included selfies of herself bound and bleeding from the head.
Eventually, she called her boyfriend to tell him her kidnappers dropped her off in an unknown location near her house. Her boyfriend picked her up and took her to the hospital, where she was questioned by police.
She told the police four black men suddenly grabbed her from her own driveway, drove her to an unknown location, and repeatedly raped and beat her.
After her story just wasn’t adding up, Artman finally admited to making the entire thing up. The creepy thing is no one knows why she lied in the first place.
While she didn’t specifically target anyone, if the police believed her story, random innocent black men could’ve been involved in the falsified case. She will be spending one year in jail, two years on probation and will have to pay a $1,158 fine.
