A 46 year old man points gun at police waving it aimlessly as innocent people watch on.  The strange thing about this situation was there was only one bullet fired and the man was able to stand back up.  Although news reporters are saying he is stable but in serious condition it only brings me to notice something.

White man points gun, waves it at police and only one bullet is fired after a one hour standoff  however black teen named Michael Brown had no gun who is raising his hands in the air as a sign of surrendering and he was laced with 6 bullets and 10 shots fired.

It appears as though the cops were trying to save this man’s life which is honorable but why not the same for the mentally challenged man in Missouri that was allegedly wielding a knife at officers after he allegedly stole some beverage from the store?

Many people of color are saying that if he was black, the standoff would never have lasted over an hour such as in this situation but he would have been riddled with bullets and murdered.

However white people are saying that most cops are non discriminatory and shoot anyone that are not cops.

 

It’s amazing that in only took one shot to drop this man and let’s keep in mind the man was also dealing with mental issues and was suicidal however we are made to believe that Michael Brown kept charging an officer after 6 bullets went in him and 4 additional bullets missed.

Nonetheless America as a whole has to do better, Cops have to do better when deciding who will live and who will die during each encounter.  Cops lives are not easy, they do have to make life or death decisions as they too have families and their lives are often put on the line.  At the end of the day it appears as if the cops shoot to kill black and Latinos and shoot to injure whites.
