Police charged a couple from West Virginia with trying to sell their baby.
Authorities say Jonathan Flint, 20, and Ashley Harmon, 25, were arrested at a home in Layland last week.
They face felony charges of selling or attempting to sell a child and gross child neglect.
According to the news release, witnesses told authorities that the pair allegedly offered to sell the 3-month-old for up to $1,000. But when no one agreed, the suspects fled and left the baby behind.
Police say the couple wanted the money to buy drugs.
Flint and Harmon are being held on $100,000 bond.
