A woman named Penny Hess, Chair of the African People Solidarity Committee is in Ferguson Missouri at the 25th-anniversary conference convention of the International People’s Democratic Uhuru Movement. She says they are under the leadership of the African Peoples socialist party they are part of the strategy to liberate African people around the world.
According to apscuhuru Penny has been a member of the African People’s Solidarity since its founding in 1976. She is a tireless organizer who speaks throughout the U.S. and Europe in an effort to educate people that white society everywhere owes its affluence and democracy to the enslavement and colonization of African and oppressed peoples.
Hess believes that the only way for white people to understand the current crisis of imperialism is to unite in solidarity with the struggles for national liberation being waged by African and other oppressed peoples.
Years of research for workshops and panels about white complicity in the enslavement and oppression of African people, and the ensuing economic benefits, led Hess to write The Culture of Violence in 1991 and an updated edition, Overturning the Culture of Violence in 2000.
She has taken to social media demanding the rights of African people, she wants to liberate Africa and all it’s stolen resources. The purpose of the committee is to win over other white people so that they can recognize that the system is built on enslavement.
