More people should speak out about the nonsense that happens in the community and not just speaking about the negative that happens but the ramifications that can and will occur because of it.  I am not even a resident of Missouri, however I am outraged by what has occurred.  Too many of our young African-American men’s lives are being “extinguished” like the flame on a lit match.  This is not about those who are doing wrong.  If you do wrong regardless of the color of your skin you deserve to be punished to the full extent of the law and on the flipside of that, if you are “the law” and do wrong you too deserved to be punished to the full extent of the law you SWORE to uphold.

NO ONE even those who are doing wrong deserve to be “gunned” down like a deer by the hunter that has his “kill” in his sights. When defending oneself has many variations and at the point where death occurs, a clear and imminent threat of danger and severe bodily harm must be present.  I believe that in relation to those who are in law enforcement, are fully aware of how to prevent and/or stop a situation.  It is when the “human” factor surpasses the training is when problems occur.   Don’t get me wrong I am not bashing the police nor am I saying they are not doing their jobs, but situations such as this one in Ferguson, MO, several cases in New York like Eric Garner, Amadou Diallo, and Florida with Trayvon Martin.  I know there are countless others, enough to make one cry uncontrollably and scream to the heavens….WHY??

It takes the positive thinking and courage to speak out like Leonette Hilliard did and even going a step further to render some much-needed encouragement to those who will undoubtedly be affected greatly by the actions of others.

THANK YOU AGAIN LEONETTE FOR SPEAKING TRUTHFUL, POSITIVE AND PASSIONATE ABOUT SOMETHING THAT AFFECTS US ALL.  IN THE END WE ARE ALL NEIGHBORS.
