Evanston police are investigating two separate early Saturday morning shootings, including one that resulted in the death of a 22-year-old man, police said.

An officer heard shots around 12:45 a.m. in the 1900 block of Brown Avenue in the north suburban city, according to a statement from Evanston police, and upon investigation, found Albert E. Norman, of the 1700 block of Grey Avenue, who was transported to Evanston Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 3:30 a.m.

At the scene, patrol officers found a vehicle rolled into a tree with Norman behind the steering wheel, shot multiple times. No one else was inside the vehicle when police arrived, police said.

A second shooting occurred around 3:30 a.m. when officers, still on the scene of the homicide, heard shots nearby.

Officers discovered a 50-year-old man who had been shot multiple times in the leg while standing in front of a residence in the 1900 block of Dodge Avenue. The man, who police did not identify, was taken to Presence Saint Francis Hospital and was stable Saturday, police said.

Police are investigating the shootings and still determining whether or not they are related, police said.
