A rapper is being praised by mom’s across the country after a Facebook photo of him cleaning his wife’s breast pumps went viral.

George Moss is a rapper best known for his songs “Hands Up” and “Go Hard or Go Home.” On Monday, Moss posted a selfie to Facebook of him cleaning his wife’s breast pumps.
Since Monday, the post has garnered over 43,000 likes on Facebook and 7,800 shares, with many users sharing messages of praise for Moss.

“As a mom who breastfed 3 boys, had a supportive husband and has now become a Certified Lactation Counselor…thank you for supporting your wife and baby and spreading breastfeeding awareness, you ROCK!!!” commented one Facebook user.

“I think this is awesome. Way to support your wife and help!!!” commented another.

After his first photo went viral, Moss shared another image on Tuesday of his wife, thanking his supporters for their kind words, but asking them to praise his wife instead.

“This woman AMAZES me!” Moss wrote in his post. “Through all the pain & soreness, frustrations, stress, etc. of trying to breast feed and pump, she gets up in the middle of the night to nurse a hungry baby…and in the middle of me writing this post, she finished nursing him and then made me a late night snack too!”

Moss also expressed his hopes that the viral photo would help raise awareness into the normalize breastfeeding movement.

“I am sincerely blown away that more guys don’t support their women and children with #breastfeeding,” Moss wrote. “I could go on and on about how happy I am to be a little piece [sic] of a movement that I didn’t even know existed, but also a little saddened to realize how few men (or better put, “males”) don’t do the simplest task like washing a bottle.”

However, not all Facebook users were supportive of Moss’ photos.

“Not to be a downer, but we women who are unable to breastfeed sacrifice just as much [as] mothers who do,” wrote one Facebook user.

So earlier yesterday I accidentally had a post “go viral” of me cleaning #breastpump bottles for my wife backstage after…

“Way to insult those of us who bottle feed our babies,” wrote another.

Moss addressed those criticizing the post, saying that he supported all mothers regardless of whether they breastfeed.

“I salute ALL mothers, fathers, and anyone looking out for the best interest of children (and their fellow man/woman). My wife and I chose to breast feed, and it’s a challenge at times to say the least. And although I try to help, the burden is heavy on her, so I wanted to give credit where credit was due, while also showing my supporting for other parents that have made the same choice.”

“But just because we chose to breastfeed, that in no way discounts the millions of women who either can’t or choose not to breastfeed. I agree that there are many more things that go into parenting then breastfeeding. And babies need to be fed a lot more then breast milk to be healthy & strong citizens of this planet.”
