This does make one say hmmmm…or does art imitate life!!
Rappers Who Have Killed People
Snoop Dogg
Though Snoop was eventually found innocent on the grounds of self defense, he and his body guard, McKinley Lee were both put up on capital murder charges in connection with the shooting death of Philip Woldemariam who was a member of a rival gang.
C Murder
If his name was not enough, C Murder or Corey Miller was part of the rap group TRU with his brothers. After a fight resulted in the shooting and beating death of 16 year old fan, Steve Thomas, in 2002, Miller was identified as the culprit. Miller was convicted of second degree murder but the verdict was later overturned by the supreme court. He was again found guilty and sentenced to life in prison.
Gucci Mane
This legendary rapper was charged with killing his best friend, Pookie Loc. The fight started when rapper Young Jeezy put a hit out on Gucci Mane’s chain, when a group of men including Gucci’s best friend came to collect on the bounty, Gucci took them all on resulting in the death of his best friend. He later beat the rap, even though he partially buried the body, in a case of self defense.
X-Raided
This rapper had a promising career, until he and a few of his fellow gang members decided to raid the home of a rival gang. The homeowner came in during the raid and was shot in the heart. Though everyone was charged, X-Raided then recorded his debut album over the phone in prison, the songs had some imagery that mirrored the crime resulting in his being sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole.
Big Lurch
His story is perhaps one of the most disturbing. In 2002 Tynsha Ysais, Lurch’s roommate, was found dead and disemboweled in the apartment that they shared. Not only where her bowels removed, her lungs had also been ripped out and she had bite marks all over her body. Lurch was later found completely naked in the middle of the street covered in blood howling at the sky. It was later concluded that Lurch was high on PCP when he attacked and killed Ysais and he was sentenced to life without possibility of parole.
