Two sisters who should be celebrating the joyful coincidence that both are having babies at nearly the same time are instead mourning the loss of their husbands and father in a freak plane crash accident. It happened last week in California and killed the most important men in their lives.
Doug Symiczek, 49, Jacob Griffiths, 32, and Kyle Parton, 29, were killed on July 6 — the same day Parton’s wife Breanna was expecting to give birth to their second child — after their single-engine plane crashed near Los Angeles.
The men were reportedly planning to take a quick early morning trip on Symiczek’s plane from French Valley to Corona Airport but were planning on returning in time for breakfast. Some reports say the small plane’s engine failed, while others suggest the family patriarch made a sharp turn, hit some trees, and crashed into the mountains before landing in Lake Elsinore.
Symiczek, who was about to celebrate his 30th wedding anniversary with wife, Kim, had beenpiloting planes since the early ’90s and had recently had his plane repaired.
It’s unbelievable to think that, in a split second, so many lives were forever changed. Parton’s 3-year-old son is left without a dad. Breanna, who gave birth to a girl named Trulee Parton on July 13, is suddenly a single mom. And Griffith’s wife, Amanda, who is set to give birth to their first baby in a few months, will also be doing so with the love and support of her family — but without her partner in life.
How incredibly sad. Kim called her husband the “best pilot ever” and said that he and her sons-in-law were “the most amazing men.”
Friends of the family have set up a gofundme.com page so they can help raise money to pay for funeral and childcare expenses.
