In custody: Singer Blu Cantrell - of 2001's Hit 'Em Up Style fame - was reportedly picked up by police in the early hours of Wednesday morning and taken to hospital for a psychological evaluation after running around the streets in Santa Monica claiming to have been given 'poisonous gas'

Upon their arrival, the boys in blue were then dealt the ‘Don’t you know who I am?’ card by the on-time songstress, who apparently went on to refer to herself as a ‘one hit wonder’.

Officers tell TMZ that the fallen star was taken to a nearby hospital, where she was evaluated by medics.

Blu – real name Tiffany Cobb – has largely remained out of the spotlight in recent years, most recently appearing on NBC’s Celebrity Circus in 2008.

Though it was a short-lived return to the limelight, with the singer eliminated from the show in week two – the first celebrity to be booted from the competition.

There has been no word from Cantrell or her camp as to her condition following Wednesday’s arrest.
