Nodoubt revised

Gwen Stefani may be focusing on her solo career, but her intermittent ska rock band No Doubt isn’t just sitting around waiting for her to come back.

The Stefani-less group confirmed to Billboard that Davey Havok, the lead singer of the alternative rock band AFI, now serves as frontman. Additionally, sources tell the publication that an album has already been recorded. The as-yet-unnamed supergroup is currently in the process of seeking a label deal for their album. Minus Stefani, No Doubt is comprised of bassist Tony Kanal, guitarist Tom Dumont, and drummer Adrian Young.

The replacement may be a bit of a shock for fans of either No Doubt or AFI. While both bands deal largely in rock and punk music, No Doubt became known for its ska and even reggae influences, while AFI was a large player in the mid-2000s emo movement due to their more gothic style and pain-obsessed lyrics. Fans will have to wait and see what the new Havok-led No Doubt group will sound like.
