Last summer, Gary Wilson (not pictured here) was sentenced to 45 years behind bars for the brutal murder of Caroyln Stone. Wilson confessed to being responsible for Stone ‘s passing at the time of his conviction, but appeared back in court Wednesday to testify in the defense of one of his co-defendants, David Granskie Jr., who was Stone’s boyfriend’s son. In the quiet courtroom, Wilson retold the gory tale, My Central New Jersey reports.

According to his version of events, after an evening of drinking, smoking and snorting cocaine, Stone came onto him. He and his other co-defendant Rocky DiTaranto joined Stone outside, as Granskie Jr. slept.

“I walked in, bent down to kiss her and made out,” said Wilson “I told her to come outside after Big Dave (her boyfriend) went in to sleep.”

“I kissed her and decided to go to the backyard to hook up,” he continued.

Once the trio was outside, he claims Stone took off his shorts leaving him wearing his swim trunks. He then decided to go to the bathroom and told DiTaranto to “keep her company while I’m gone.” In the restroom, he says that he realized he’d consumed too much alcohol and cocaine. By the time he returned from the restroom, which was about five minutes later, he says that he saw DiTaranto walking towards him.

“I’m done man,” Wilson said DiTaranto said. “I’m going home.”

He says that when he returned to Stone, she was on her knees and naked except for a t-shirt that was around her neck. Wilson claims that when he told Stone that he wouldn’t be able to sleep with her, she began to mock him.

“What kind of man can’t get aroused in front of a naked woman?” she said, according to his testimony.”I tried to explain that I had been drinking too much and she just started laughing.”

“I told her it’s not funny; it happens. And she kept laughing.”

From there, his attack began.

“So I snapped and I punched her. She fell back unconscious. After I had hit her I began to choke her and she had no fight in her.”

Wilson went on to say that he decided to kill Stone to cover up his disloyalty to Granskie Sr.

“I didn’t want people to know that I had hit her or to find out why she was in the backyard. I didn’t want Big Dave to know that I had betrayed his friendship. So I started to choke her so that he would never know we betrayed him.”

“I know it doesn’t make sense. It just seemed to be the logical thing to do at the time to get rid of the situation that I had made very bad. At that point it seemed like my only option.”

“After choking her for a while I decided I had to finish what I started. It didn’t seem like it was working. I saw a cinder block and knew from my work in construction that it was a very heavy object. I stood over her. I lifted it over my head. I looked down, said I’m sorry, and hit her with the cinder block.”

“I decided to do it again. I didn’t want her to suffer. It took everything in me to lift that cinder block back up again.”

According to Wilson’s recent testimony, Granskie Jr. was completely innocent and had nothing to do with the crime.
