GOP Aide Elizabeth Lauten according to NBC has resigned amid her disrespectful post regarding Sasha and Malia Obama’s attire during the Turkey Pardoning ceremony at the White House.  Lauten’s comments caused a widespread frenzy as it should have. There’s just some things you simply do not do and maliciously attacking the President’s children is at the top of the list.

What’s interesting about this situation is a person on her stature and position should know better than to attack the nation’s leader’s children.  The presidential office has come under such blatant disrespect and continuous scrutiny, it’s too much to bear anymore and has gotten to be quite old.  Although presidents before Barack Obama who had children in the White House didn’t endure the utter disrespect that looms over President Obama.

Lauten’s self-imposed resignation should have happened moments after she made the disrespectful post on Facebook.  (see post below) Lauten because of the backlash she received, the post was are moved and her private settings were changed, guess her “boldness” was a bit too much for her in the end.

“Dear Sasha and Malia: I get you’re both in those awful teen years, but you’re a part of the First Family, try showing a little class. At least respect the part you play,” Lauten wrote in a post on the social media website, which was later taken down.

Hopefully Lauten will think again before she makes comments about someone’s children even if they are not in the White House, however she’ll have plenty of time to think about while she is now on the unemployment line.
