Michelle Obama brought the funk to “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” showing off her moves with the daytime talk show host in a choreographed dance.
In a preview clip from her fourth appearance on DeGeneres’s chatfest airing Monday, Obama is seen grooving to the head-bopping Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars hit, “Uptown Funk.” Obama dons wide-leg white pants and a black jacket with gold detailing as she boogies down for nearly 90 seconds dance with the Emmy winning host.
The interview and hip-shaking session on “Ellen” were to promote the fifth anniversary of Obama’s “Let’s Move!” anti-childhood obesity initiative and her #GimmeFive healthy lifestyle challenge.
It’s not the first time the first lady has put her dance skills on full display. In 2011, Obama made headlines when she debuted a widely-praised version of “The Dougie” with a group of Washington middle school students. And during a 2013 sketch on NBC’s “Late Night,” Obama performed moves such as “The Just the Hands Part of Single Ladies” during a comedic sketch called “The Evolution of Mom Dancing.”
