A judge has denied bond for the 27-year-old man accused of killing is 16-year-old sister.
Police say Marquaris Oglesby, 27, shot and killed his sister, Ashley Oglesby, 16, as she slept in her Greenhaven Drive home Thursday. Ashley was rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital where she passed away.
The shooting happened around 7 a.m. at an apartment complex in the 600 block of Greenhaven Drive. That’s right across the street from East Lake Golf Club.
The girl’s mother was seen stumbling from the home after police say she witnessed the whole thing.
Police are trying to determine what led up to the shooting.
Family members said Ashley was a smart girl who dreamed of becoming a doctor. Family members said Marquaris was suffering from delusional thoughts before he shot her.
Marquaris had his appearance hearing Friday morning at the DeKalb County Courthouse.
