A Waffle House employee in Biloxi, Mississippi was simply doing her job, enforcing the no-smoking policy when a customer shot her in the head Friday… all because she asked him to put his cigarette out!
52-year-old Julia Brightwell died on the way to the hospital, Fox News reports.
After shooting the woman, cops say Johnny Max Mount stuck around for officers to arrive and surrendered in the parking lot. He’s charged with first-degree murder and is being held on a $2 million bond.
Brightwell had worked at the Waffle House for eight years. It’s unclear if she’d ever served Mount before the night she was killed.
In a statement, the Waffle House summed up this crime in a nutshell, calling it a “senseless tragedy.
