Help Stop Institutional Racism In Chicago!!! #BlackBusinessesMatter

#blackbusinessesmatter

Being an entrepreneur has its difficult moments but when the fact of  race, creed, ethnicity or what have you is put in the mix, it’s a recipe for disaster.  Previously EarHustle411 posted stories in regards to a Chicago based business names Nouveau Tavern located in downtown Chicago and the unfortunate sanctions imposed onto the establishment.  Nouveau Tavern believes it was unfairly targeted under a little known ordinance titled the “Drug & Gang House Nuisance Ordinance”.

To our knowledge Nouveau Tavern has not had any situations where there had been any illicit activity or shootings.  The upscale restaurant under this ordinance was stripped of its ability to have music and entertainment.  The establishment had been order to close due to safety although the establishment had not been involved in any situation.  While the restaurant is located in the River North neighborhood, it has been blindsided with issue after issue.  Most recently the location was denied the ability to host a viewing of the Mayweather/Pacquiao fight while several white businesses were able to do so.  The very “selective” “Drug & Gang House Nuisance Ordinance” used against Nouveau Tavern was done in such a way that it has impeded on their ability to be a successful Black Owned Business.

Owner Teddy Gilmore asks for the buying consumer to get involved and help stop institutional racism in Chicago simply titled #BlackBusinessesMatter
