Richard Sherman found himself at the center of a media storm because his rant in an interview after the NFC championship game Sunday night, but he has one very, very significant supporter: Hank Aaron.
The Hall of Famer rarely tweets, but his eighth was a message of support directed at the Seattle Seahawks cornerback, who could use it after his over-the-top interview with Erin Andrews.
Sherman apologized on Monday afternoon for becoming a distraction ahead of the Seattle Seahawks’ Super Bowl appearance in less than two weeks and explained himself in a column on MMQB.com that pulled the highest traffic in SI.com digital history, edging the story in which Jason Collins announced he’s gay.
.@RSherman_25 – hang in there & keep playing as well as you did Sunday. Excellent job – you have my support.
