WTHeck….is really going on? I tell you the State of Illinois really needs to “FIND” the money to get these lunatics that are running the streets some mental help. I am glad they caught the guy and hopefully he will get some time so he can get the help he needs.

Jawaun Westbrook, 28, charged in hammer attack near Navy Pier

CHICAGO (WLS) –Jawaun Westbrook, 28, has been charged with two counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon in connection with an attack on two suburban women near Navy Pier.

Westbrook, of the 400-block of East Ohio Street, was arrested for allegedly striking the two 55-year-old women with a hammer in the 500-block of North Lake Shore Drive.

Westbrook was taken into custody shortly after the isolated incident, which took place on the lakefront path around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Both victims were taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in fair condition for treatment.

Westbrook is due in bond court on Thursday.
