Fox’s “Empire” keeps growing.
Beyoncépal and Destiny’s Child star Kelly Rowland is joining the cast of Fox’s “Empire” and will play the mother of Terrence Howard’s character Lucious Lyon in a flashback, according to E.
The move suggests that viewers will finally get a glimpse at the origins for the the gangster-turned-rapper-turned-entrepreneur.
She joins a growing star-studded lineup of guest stars, including Oscar winner, Marisa Tomei, funnyman Chris Rock, singer Lenny Kravitz, Alicia Keys, Common and Oprah Winfrey.
“Empire” is a classic old-school prime-time family soap opera, set in the music business — but its success has exceeded even it’s creator’s expectations.
Howard stars stars as Lucious Lyon, a one-time recording star who founded Empire Records and has built it into a powerhouse — but stands at a crossroads as he tries to plan for its future.
