Our children cannot catch a break and people who prey on children need not pass go or collect $200, take their sick behinds straight to the jail and leave them be!! Just my opinion!!

A former Bowen High School janitor raped one student and fondled another in classrooms while he worked at the South Side school in 2012 and 2013, Cook County prosecutors said Tuesday.

Between Aug. 1, 2012 and July 31, 2013, Paul Peatry sexually assaulted a student while they were together in a classroom after school, Assistant State’s Attorney Colleen Rogers said.

Several months later, between Feb. 1, 2013 and Feb. 28, 2013, Peatry put his hands down another student’s pants while she was in a classroom after school, Rogers said.

Both students were around 16 or 17 years old at the time of the alleged attacks.

The teenagers cried out about Peatry’s alleged actions earlier this year, Rogers said.

Chicago Public School officials were immediately unavailable for comment.

Peatry, who appeared in bond court in slacks, a dress shirt and a pin-striped gray vest, also solicited sexual activities from other girls through another staff member at the school, 2710 E. 89th Street, according to a police report.

Rogers said Peatry, now 40, often participated in after school activities with students.

According to the police report, Peatry volunteered as an athletic assistant coach.

Peatry currently works as a security guard, an assistant public defender said during his bond hearing.

Judge Maria Kuriakos Ciesil ordered Peatry, of the 7800 block of South Oglesby Avenue, held in lieu of $100,000 bail for criminal sexual assault and aggravated criminal sexual abuse.
