Five People Shot At A House Party In Chicago’s Austin Neighborhood

Police are searching for the man who shot five people outside a house party in Chicago’s South Austin neighborhood.

It happened at a building near the intersection of North Lorel Avenue and West Madison Street  around 3:00 a.m.

Police say the group was standing outside the courtyard of the building when a man walked up and started shooting.

Three women and two men were shot. The women were taken to Mount Sinai Hospital. One woman, a 33-year-old, was shot in the neck and was in serious condition. The other two, a 38-year-old and a 37-year-old were taken in stable condition.

The two men, a 23-year-old and 26-year-old, were taken to Stroger Hospital. They were both shot in the leg and in stable condition.

Area North detectives are investigating the shooting. No one is in custody.
