A woman’s body found mixed with garbage on a trash collection center conveyer belt has been identified by investigators.

Police say that Jarrae Nikole Estepp, 21, was found dead by workers at the Republic Services plant in Anaheim, Ca., around 10:30 a.m. Friday, the Los Angeles Times reports. Police are treating the case as a homicide.

The Anaheim Police Department announced the identification on Twitter:

The body came in, it was dumped,” Lt. Tim Schmidt, of the Anaheim Police Department, told NBC Los Angeles. The body was discovered by workers tasked with separating various types of waste.

According to the OC Register:

The body was unclothed, police said, and was lying face down with the legs extended. Workers initially told authorities that the body had been dismembered, but police later determined that the top half of the body was just blocked by debris.

Authorities planned to search through the trash for clues, according to KTLA.
