House Bill 325, which lowers Illinois’ excessive LLC fees, is scheduled to be heard by the House Revenue and Finance Committee this Friday, February 20th. While it is not certain the Bill will be called for a vote this week, it is critical that we begin to build momentum for this legislation. We are not giving up on this and are very confident that it will get done this time around. We need EVERYONE’S support. This form takes just a hot second to complete!! Let your legislators know that its time for Illinois to give Small Businesses a win.
There is strength in-numbers so let’s leverage our critical mass and ensure that the voice of small business owners and entrepreneurs is heard loud and clear in Springfield! Lowering LLC fees will level the playing field for Illinois small businesses and empower the state’s small business community.
Moreover, Illinois’ yearly renewal fee as well as an array of additional fees associated with operating an LLC are also unreasonably high. This makes Illinois less competitive than other states and negatively impacts the small business community.
Forming as an LLC is the right choice for many small businesses. Unfortunately, far too many business owners do not form LLC’s because excessive fees prompt them to form as corporations or to simply file in other states. Lowering Illinois’ unreasonably high LLC fees will encourage economic growth and combat the perception that Illinois is a difficult place to start and operate a small business.
This is the time to get this done. I ask that you lead on this issue.
