Donald Trump Weighs In On The Sandra Bland Case

Republican Presidential Candidate Donald Trump has been stirring up controversy for some of his outlandish comments, however, in the wake of the Sandra Bland tragedy, Trump may have redeemed himself.

While sitting with CNN’s Anderson Cooper, Trump weighed in on the events surrounding the July 10th arrest of the 28-year-old Chicago woman. Bland was pulled over by a state trooper in Texas for failing to signal before switching lanes. Three days later while in police custody, she was found dead in her cell. An autopsy report by officials have ruled her death a suicide, to the dismay of many who suspect foul play.

Trump admitted to Cooper he didn’t like the trooper’s tone or attitude.

“I will tell you I saw that clip, on your show by the way, I thought it was terrible. I thought he was so aggressive,” the 69-year-old entrepreneur said. “It was a traffic signal from what I understand. But who gets out of a car for a traffic signal? I haven’t been pulled over in a while, actually, but seriously!?”

The comments from Trump may come as a surprise to those who know The Apprentice star to be a staunch supporter of the police, but even Trump thought the dash cam video footage of Bland’s arrest was unruly.

“He looked very aggressive. I didn’t like his demeanor, I thought it was terrible to be honest with you and I’m a huge fan of the police, I think the police need to be given back power, but this guy was overly aggressive, terribly aggressive.”

When asked by Cooper if unfair treatment by the police happen more to minorities than white men, Trump kept it politically correct.

“I hope it doesn’t, but it might,” he said.
