Birthday Surprise: Solange Knowles Gets Engaged!?

Solange Knowles is celebrating her 28th birthday today and according to reports, the singer received the gift of a lifetime. Per MediaTakeOut, Knowles’ longtime boyfriend, video director Alan Ferguson popped the question to Beyonce’s little sister. Solange has not confirmed the engagement, so it’s unclear whether the reports are actually true.

During a recent interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Solange opened up about her boyfriend of five years, telling the publication, “Luckily, I dated all of the losers ages ago. My love life has been stable for a while.”

On Tuesday morning, in honor of her special day, Knowles posted an image on Instagram of herself posing in front of an orange wall, writing:

“Yesterday. The last of 27.”

During the star’s chat with Harper’s earlier this years, she also explained that she has learned a lot in her twenties. “Everyone talks about how, in your 30s, all of these growing pains transition into wisdom and you feel more self-assured and confident,” she said.

“But I think I had a bit of a jump-start on that at 27. For the first time in my life, I’m basing every decision around the idea of whether I want to do it or if I think it will be inspiring. And that’s paid off for me.”

She added, ‘“In a lot of ways, emotionally and mentally, I feel far older than 27. Just going through a marriage and a divorce, which I essentially did by 21, will give you an insane amount of perspective on life.”

The singer divorced her high school sweetheart and son’s father, Daniel Smith at the age of 20.

 

Solange has been working on her singing career and she’s released some singles however the reception of the music was lackluster so Earhustle411 hopes this surprise is the boost Solange needs to have another focus towards her career.
