Congratulations To Chicago’s Own Queen Hip Hop Royalty “Teefa” To Host New Classic Hip Hop Show On Soul 106.3

The Hip Hop Culture has been a culture that many don’t truly understand, it’s been given so much flack about the representation of the genre.  Many have been advocates of the hip hop culture and its movement but one thing is for sure about hip hop…IT’S HERE TO STAY!!!  EarHustle411 is so elated to hear that Chicago native and hip hop connoisseur, advocate and artist Teefa has been selected by Soul 106.3FM to host a new classic hip hop show appropriately titled ” The Basement”.

This Queen of Hip Hop Royalty has been on a serious mission just trying to keep classic hip hop alive.  For those who are scratching their heads asking “Who is Teefa?” well ask no further, she is not only a woman who has hip hop running thorough her veins, she is a Chicago native and one-half of the female hip hop duo Infamous Syndicate.  Their 1999 album (yes I said album) “Changing the Game” on the Relativity Records label climbed to #18 on the Billboard Heatseekers charts and made it to #50 on the R&B charts with the single “Here  I Go” topping out at #8 on the Hot Rap Singles Chart.

While her partner Shawwna moved on to pursue a solo career, Teefa pursued a career in radio all the while still maintaining her skills as a lyricist.  She has been all over the Chicago area and the United States performing, hosting events and all in the name of hip hop.

TeefaTeefa is all about the business of keeping classic hip hop fresh on the minds of the masses.  So you can best believe that Teefa will have everyone’s heads bobbing to the sounds of Nas, Notorious B.I.G., Run DMC, EPMD, Public Enemy, Eric B & Rakim, Doug E. Fresh, MC Lyte and the list goes on and on and ya don’t stop…(Ok, we couldn’t resist) but you get the picture.

Teefa says:

“I was raised in hip-hop culture. It literally shaped me to be the woman I am today,” Teefa said. “Throwback hip-hop has been homeless in terms of mainstream radio in Chicago for a long time now. I’m honored to be on 106.3 with my family and playing music I am passionate about. I am truly blessed. I can’t even call it work because I’m having too much fun.” (quote from Rolling Out)
