EarHustle411 and the writing staff are saddened but yet excited for one of Chicago’s very own comedian and radio personality’s who will be moving on and upward in his career. Comedian and beloved Radio Personality Tony Sculfield has wow’d the powers that be at KBLX-FM in San Francisco. This move will reunite him with former program director of WGCI, WVAZ from iHeart Media Elroy Smith. We are so very proud of Tony and he will most certainly be missed but as we know all good thins must come to an end and Tony’s time here may be ending but his take off is just beginning.
Tony Sculfield’s passion for his hometown will NOT BE WAVERED so people don’t get it twisted, he will simply be employed in San Francisco but his home will always be Chicago. He has been a longtime advocate for the community because he always says that he was a product of the community and he was and always will be “So Chicago”. Of course his comedic wit, charm and infectious smile will be sorely missed on the airwaves and the stages in and around town.
Congratulations Tony on your new assignment, go forth and get to work!! EarHustle411 and the writing staff wishes him all the very best that God has in store for him.

Chicago radio superstar Tony Sculfield will be leaving the market and exiting his job as nighttime host on WSRB-FM/106.3 Chicago’s R&B. Sculfield will be heading to San Francisco to take over the morning show on KBLX-FM as of June 6th, reuniting him with legendary Chicago radio executive Elroy Smith, the new Operations Manager/Program Director of that station.
Sculfield, aka “Tony Sco,” was already an experienced stand-up comedian when he started in radio in 2006 on WGCI-FM. He began as a contributor to Crazy Howard McGee’s morning show. From there, he went on to host the WGCI-FM midday show, nicknamed “Riot Radio,” achieving top ratings. In April 2009, he moved to mornings as the host of “Tony Sculfield & The Morning Riot,” where he and his co-hosts went on to develop decent ratings and a large following.
In December 2014, Sculfield was among those released by iHeartMedia in a year-end budget dump.
After that, he did some guest hosting online, live stand-up and emcee work, and made appearances on television as a contributor to WLS-TV/ABC 7’s “Windy City LIVE.”
In June of last year, Sculfield was hired by Crawford Broadcasting to join WSRB-FM as its new evening personality.
At KLBX-FM, Sculfield will join existing “Morning Dream Team” co-hosts Kimmie Taylor and comedian Mark Curry to deliver laughs to the Bay Area. Earlier this week, Sculfield did a three-day on-air tryout with the station, instantly winning over management and staffers alike.
Smith said that Sculfield “is the epitome of a professional and knows how to create compelling radio.”
Steve DiNardo, Entercom San Francisco’s Vice President and Market Manager, said: “Tony brings a wealth of experience in Urban Adult Contemporary morning radio to KBLX. His addition makes our live and local show relevant, topical and vibrant for the KBLX community.”
Sculfield stated today: “It is with great pleasure that I join the dynamic Dream Team on KBLX. I look forward to bringing exciting, compelling and fun radio to the Bay Area along with the awesome Kimmie Taylor and the hilarious Mark Curry.”
Sculfield will continue to perform standup comedy, as well. In fact, Saturday night, Sculfield will be part of a big comedy show saluting America’s soldiers. It will be taking place at St. Philip Neri Hall in Chicago at 9:00pm. Tickets are sold at the door for $20. Along with Sculfield, Chicago comedians Baldhead, Big Mike, and Tara Terry (among others) will be performing. ~ Source: Chicagoland Radio and Media
