Per WGN News, Police warn CTA commuters who take the Red Line to look out for thieves.

There have been three robberies this week.

During the robbery, three-to-four offenders approach the victims outside of a CTA Red Line Station or on the train.

One asks a question to distract the rider — then the others punch the victim in the face multiple times and goes through their pockets or purse.

Two of the robberies happened just after 1 a.m. Friday; the first incident in the 100 block of West Adams — then 20 minutes later again, in the 100 block of West Van Buren.

Another robbery was reported around 11:20 p.m. Wednesday in the 100 block of South State.

Anyone with information should contact Area Central Detectives. The advice from police: Be aware of your surroundings.
