Chance the Rapper made “SNL” history, becoming the first independent artist to perform on the show.
After recently wrapping his “Family Matters” tour, the Chicago MC hit the 30 Rock stage. Following an introduction from host Chris Hemsworth, he debuted his brand new song “Somewhere in Paradise” with special guest Jeremih, and showed off some fancy footwork.
The song, which he posted shortly before going live, also features another fellow Chi-town native, R. Kelly.
For his second performance, Chancelor Bennett delivered “Sunday Morning” off Donnie Trumpet & The Social Experiment’s Surf album.
While seated on a stool and decked out in his White Sox attire, he crooned his way through the soulful song alongside his six backup singers.
