On Friday, November 26, 2016, Ear Hustle 411 attended the Red Carpet Premiere of “Not Another Black Movie”

The movie premiere was long awaited and the anticipation was apparent based on the crowd that emerged at the historic Patio Theater located at 6008 W. Irving Park in Chicago Illinois.

This Movie was written and Produced by Chicago’s Own Jay Davis and directed by Donte Diesel. You can tell the chemistry between the producer and the director had to be hilarious because the film was reminiscent of the vibe.

Upon arriving, we noticed a large crowd in the lobby waiting to view the movie which consisted of many unique parodies’ each scene funnier than the next.

The movie was a spoof of several movies such as “Daddy’s Little Girls” by Tyler Perry, “Diary of a Mad Black Woman” and “Soul Food” to name a few.  You would think after his successful release of “Not Another Zombie Movie Davis would not be able to come back and shock us again only one year later but that proved to be wrong.

Not only did he pull it off but he wowed the audience.  You can hear everyone laughing at the spoofs and singing along with some of the scenes.

The primary focus of the film was “Big Mama” She, of course, was the family matriarch and in her dying wish was to bring the family together and each one had to deal with their personal dysfunction and get along in order to inherit her millions which proved to be rather difficult.

The movie had some local actors and actresses as well as some notables such as (Comedian) Damon Williams  (Tom Joyner Morning Show, BET Live), The beautifully talented Janet Hubert Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, (Comedian) Leon Rogers, (WGCI Comic View) and(Comedian) Rodney Perry from the (Monique Show and Who’s Got joke)s.

Jay Davis is not only a multi-talented writer, a producer he’s also an actor who starred in his own film. Ear Hustle 411 was pleasantly surprised and overcome with laughter.  This independent movie mogul will certainly make it on the big screens and will have his star on the Hollywood walk of fame.
