Four people were found dead inside a home overnight in the city’s South Side, police said.
The bodies were discovered in the home, located near 83rd and Drexel, around 8:30 p.m. Saturday, police said.
Police have not released any other information about this case or the victims involved, although family members at the scene claim the victims are a 27-year-old mother and her three children.
“I woke up this morning before I go to church and I hear this on the news and stuff, it’s a shock, unbelievable,” said Leon Ervin, the grandfather of one of the children.
Officials say the bodies showed signs of burning and decomposition. Investigators were seen going in and out of the home in hazmat suits before leaving the scene Sunday morning.
“My daughter goes to school with her little boy Andrew, 11-years-old, it’s just so tough that I have to break this news to her because they were best friends and we all knew their family members – my mom babysat them,” said Janet Hubbard, a friend of the family.
